SXSW Recap

Last month I had the awesome opportunity to attend SXSW in Austin, Texas with my sister Jessica and the Sperry team (btw, these are my absolute favorite pair of shoes right now. I've been wearing them every day because they are sooo comfy). Surprisingly, this was my first trip to SXSW and to Texas! I loved Austin...the city was full of things to see, but more importantly, things to eat! We also had perfect weather while we were there, and just happen to miss the stormy weather.

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

I mentioned in my pervious post that I'm loving the flares trend, so I couldn't help but add these dark wash Banana Republic jeans to my collection.

Black, White & Blue

Happy Friday! I decided to put a little twist on the black and white combo by adding a pop of color with this scarf from Banana Republic. The silk scarf is really quite beautiful and I love how it added to my outfit. Also, if you check out the scarf on BR's website, you might see something a little familiar! :)

Think Pink

I don't own many pink items in my closet...but I'm slowly starting to change that! A few years ago I would have never worn anything pink, but the color has grown on me :) I love this off-the-shoulder shirt and thought it was a perfect shade of pink for my skin tone. Plus it's the perfect boho top for spring and summer!

Pencil skirts are a wardrobe classic, and this faux leather skirt was the perfect addition for Spring. I just bought this skirt from Zara the other week but it seems like it already sold out! I linked to a very similar skirt from ASOS, but hopefully Zara brings this skirt back in stock soon!

Dare to Flare

I personally love that the '70s fashion has come back in style. Besides the fact that I grew up on flares (or rather bell-bottoms), I love them because they are just so slimming and elongating! The pants I'm wearing are definitely my new favorite flares right now. I recently bought a designer pair, but these ones from Charlotte Russe make the other ones look terrible (seriously) . I haven't worn CR jeans in years--like since high school--but I'm really glad I came across this pair. I'm really picky about the color of my jeans, and not only are these jeans the perfect color, but they are super soft and the perfect fit. And they're great too since you can wear them as high-waisted jeans or leave your shirt untucked if you're not in the high-waisted mood :)

I'm also wearing my new Daniel Wellington watch which I looovee. I've been stealing/borrowing my sister's DW watch for years now so I'm so happy I finally have my own! Plus you guys can use the code 'lifewithjazz' for 15% off anything on www.danielwellington.com (expires Feb. 29th)!

Golden Hour in Santa Cruz

My sister and I made a quick trip to Santa Cruz while the weather is so nice. Santa Cruz is only like a 30 min. drive, but we never seem to visit as much as we would like to. Santa Cruz is just so quaint and the beaches are beautiful. You can also find some great restaurants around the town too. We ate dinner at The Crow's Nest and caught a spectacular sunset from their outdoor seating. Hopefully we'll make it out to Santa Cruz much more this year! (P.S my dress is no longer available so I've linked to other maxi dresses I love).

Jazz's Insider Tip: I received the Passport Unlimited Dining card for Christmas and I highly recommend it. You pay a one time fee for the membership card, and then you get a discount at any of the restaurants on their list. Most places offer a BOGO free entree so it's a great way to save money when eating out. Your membership expires one year after purchase and you can use your card as many times as you like during the year. So if you see any of your favorite restaurants on their list and you eat there more than 10 times a year then it's a great deal. (For my Bay Area readers, they have some great restaurants like The Crow's Nest, Pedro's Cantina, Blowfish Sushi, Tomatina, Rosie McCann's and more).

Mini Skirt Chic

We have been having some amazing weather this week in California and I must say, I'm loving it!! A beautiful, bright day just makes me so happy. I decided to pull out some of my summer clothes and I went with a mini skirt and cotton blouse. I love leather skirts because you can easily dress them up or down. If you are dressing the skirt down for daytime wear, be sure to pair it with a longer sleeve or conservative top :)
